The Road To Palomar
The East Side 3rd Sunday Ride is back, and we're going big to celebrate. (plus, we NEED this) We're getting an extra early start (I know.... 8 friggin' AM) as this is going to be a big ALL DAY ride. (270 miles RT) Yup, much of it is highway, but the payoff is gonna be worth it. Here's the route to Palomar on google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/caLAidrpcnL8hTy98
We are leaving at 8:30 sharp, so be there before, fueled up and ready to go please.
Those wanting to join up with us at the base of the Ortega Highway:
We will be arriving at the Shell Gas Station no earlier than 9:30!
Shell, 27101 Ortega Hwy, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675

Probably 30 minutes to fuel up and stretch - getting back the road at 10AM (ish)
We will grab some well deserved grub at Hell's Kitchen, 32 miles up the Ortega. (ETA 10:45 - 11AM ish)
Plan on a full hour to eat ... tentatively leaving for Palomar at Noon. (Obviously,m we'll be playing this by ear a little)
We'll be taking Nate Harrison Road up with a rest stop (we've earned it) at the Palomar Mtn. General Store.
The trip down the South Grade ain't so bad either.... 22 switchbacks over 5 miles.
We'll be fueling up at the Gateway Chevron again for the 95 mile rip back to LA.
