This route is our pal Francisco's twist on our "Long Road to Ojai" ride. Yup, you guessed it, it starts with a 60 Mile freeway burn to the Gorman Exit off of the 5 freeway. We'll re-group at the Shell station before we continue onto Lockwood Valley Rd West. Lockwood Valley Rd is one of my favorite roads... although be warned: Off camber turns, broken pavement & sandy corners abound. Yup. Sketchy fun. 🙂
We're gonna try an new place for grub, the Scheideck Lodge. I've heard about this place for a long time, but never visited. Come to find out we will be visiting on possibly their last week of operation! 🙁 They are reluctantly set to cease operations (forever) on the 26th. More info on their facebook page. Let's give them some business & our thanks before they go!
After grub, we will take the 33 highway south down into Ojai. (I haven't done this ride in a while, but looking at the map... there may be a turn or two to negotiate. :))
Re-group & Fuel up at the Shell in Ojai.
We'll cruise the main drag through town following the 150 to Santa Paula. In Santa Paul we'll skip the highway in favor of back country roads to a little known moutain pass into Simi Valley.
Last "official" stop with be at the Moorpark Arco for air Hugs, fist bumps & fuel for the ride home.
If you're a west-sider - might I suggest Hwy 23 to the 101/405.
East-siders should take the 118 EAST to the 5,2 or 133/210.
